How is a Benchmark Branch different from a traditional retail branch?

Our branch structure is very much like traditional retail mortgage banking but with an entrepreneurial structure. Our Benchmark branches operate independently while partnering with a large, reputable parent company having the resources to act as the branch's safety net.
In addition to the 100% commission structure which is grossly superior to lesser splits or only basis points at many financial institutions, the primary difference between the two structures is in the available support opportunities.

What qualifications do I need?

There are no "standard qualifications" for being successful as a Branch Manager. But, there are some traits that have proven to be essential. Experience is one of them. Managers with at least five years of experience in the mortgage industry seem to have the best success at juggling the many responsibilities of a branch. You must be able to train and motivate employees, develop relationships with lenders, realtors and other referral sources, and solve any problems that arise in the office on a day-to-day basis. A good professional reputation and good credit standing are invaluable. Other traits that go a long way towards success are ambition and competitiveness. Combine that with impeccable integrity and a passion to excel in your work and you have a winning combination.

Is education and/or training offered?

Yes. We strongly believe that education and training is vital for any business to succeed. We recently delivered a full-day FHA lending seminar at the Stonebriar Country Club in Frisco, Texas near our corporate offices. We are scheduling additional trainings on a number of topics and plan to make them available on CD's for distribution to our branch partners.

Will I be able to work from home as a Benchmark Branch Manager?

We desire to partner with mortgage professionals who occupy commercial office space but sometimes, under special circumstances, we do allow our Branch Partners to work from home as long as the space they office from meets the following requirements:

1. There must be a separate entrance to the building or access to the office space that does not go through living quarters. |

2. The office must be physically separated from living quarters. |
| |
3. Security measures must be taken to restrict access to the work area. |
| |
4. There must be signage identifying the business on premises. |
| |
5. There must be a separate dedicated phone line for the office with a listing on www.SuperPages.com. |

6. Benchmark Branch Managers are not permitted to hire support staff or loan officers while working from a home office. |
